Davidson, Technical Specialist

Professional wireless audio solutions from Shenzhen.

Davidson is the technical specialist at Auralink Audio and the author of the technical articles on this site. He has spent ten years in earphone manufacturing in Shenzhen.

What he works on

His day job is the part of manufacturing that buyers rarely see: turning a customer’s requirement into a specification a production line can actually be held to, and then checking that what comes off the line matches it.

  • Specification control. Writing the approved specification sheet — chipset and firmware build, microphone count and placement, battery cell and rated capacity, Bluetooth profile — and locking it so components cannot be substituted between runs without approval.
  • Acoustic and microphone verification. Structured listening trials for call quality: quiet-room baselines, street and wind conditions, single-bud handover, and unit-to-unit spread across a production run.
  • Sample approval. Running the golden-sample process with customers and keeping the retained reference that later batches are measured against.
  • Batch inspection. Deciding what gets shipped and what goes back to the line.

How he writes

The articles here are written for people placing wholesale orders, not for consumers choosing a gift. That shapes what they contain: procurement checklists, what a specification sheet can and cannot prove, how many units to sample, and what to put in writing before signing.

Two rules apply to everything published on this site.

  • Documented facts are separated from judgement. Chipset generations, supported profiles and rated figures come from official specifications. Anything about how a product performs is labelled as an assessment, with the conditions it was assessed under.
  • Untested is stated as untested. Where an article has not been backed by a hands-on laboratory test, it says so rather than implying one. Community discussion is used to find the questions buyers are asking, never as a source of fact.
